Analysis and Certification Laboratory
The IGE laboratory, set up in 1969, is the leading gemmological laboratory in Spain in terms of rigour, independence, professionalism and institutional recognition. The regulations applied are in accordance with the CIBJO laboratory standards, where it has been registered as a laboratory since 1990.
The laboratory is currently recognised by the Official Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Madrid.
Independence and rigour
The importance of an independent non-profit gemmological laboratory
The IGE is a non-profit association of professionals in the sector. This characteristic of our institution guarantees independence when issuing certificates and reports.
Similarly, the gemmological laboratory committee of the IGE, made up of professionals from the sector, guarantees the rigour of the certificates in accordance with the IGE's laboratory protocols, in accordance with CIBJO regulations.
In order to guarantee the authenticity of our documents, the reports (certificates and reports) issued by the IGE's laboratory are included in the register of reports of the Instituto Gemológico Español. These data can be consulted by anyone by providing the number of the corresponding document.
